Paula Scher is an American graphic designer, illustrator, painter and art educator in design. Scher has developed brand and identity systems, promotional materials, packaging and publication designs for a range of clients. Typical for Paula Scher is her typographic wit and her passion for lettering and the Sans-Serif-Type. With this font she creates images with emotional impact, f.e. words who are running along walls or constituting the borders on maps. In this short film from Wallpaper – shown at the Architecture and Design Film Festival in New York and directed by Hillman Curtis – she talks about her works, including the iconic Citibank logo and landmark identity for the Public Theatre in New York.
